Purpose
Leads and oversees the Merchant Services portfolio in Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Strategic Development – Lead the efforts to develop and execute new innovative strategies that expand the Merchant Services portfolio into new sectors, by identifying emerging industry trends, customer needs, key market segments, new geographies and developing technologies.
- Product Delivery and Partner Management – Managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders and strategic partners to drive the development and delivery of new merchant services offering and sales & services engagement framework that contributes to the competitive and comprehensive offering to meet customers’ needs. Includes participating in partner relationship activities.
- Product Operations, Servicing and Commercialization – Ensures that products are competitively positioned, profitability is maximized, and existing and future customer needs are met. Responsible for the end-to-end customer experience across all business segments, including onboarding experience, to ensure merchants are provided the best experience.
- Accountable for working with the partners on the product management cycle, all marketing campaigns targeted to business markets within an assigned portfolio and sales support.
- Leadership - Provides strong team leadership to motivate and develop individual and team performance. Fostering and developing a strong, positive team environment, driving employee empowerment, innovation and a high degree of engagement. Ensuring the performance management process is in place and employee development is a priority for all employees on the team
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
What You'll Bring:
- Degree / post graduate degree, preferably in business
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the payment / acquiring industry
- 5 - 10 years’ experience in the development and management of banking products and portfolios
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and sales teams
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioriies in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Global Transaction Banking services, products, and sales culture
- Good understanding of the Small Business, Commercial and Corporate Bank’s objectives, strategies, and structure is also required
- Familiraity with sales methodologies, processes, and best practices
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the merchant services and/or payment industry
Work Arrangement:
Work in office environment, 4 days in office.
