Purpose
As the Director & Head of Global Liquidity Products, you will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for the global Liquidity product development function within Global Transaction Banking (GTB). This role ensures that business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with the Bank’s objectives and in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and foster a customer-focused culture within the team to deepen client relationships and leverage the Bank’s broader relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Establish strategic business plans for regional growth by:
- Developing a clear vision and business strategy aligned with the Bank’s overall objectives.
- Leading the creation of strategic proposals and business cases that support divisional and Bank priorities.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of key alliances, partnerships, and stakeholder relationships to ensure resources are aligned with business objectives.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of the marketplace, competitor strategies, offerings, market positioning, client segmentation, and technology trends.
- Execute global strategic business plans by:
- Driving the creation and implementation of growth and revenue-generating strategies, programs, and initiatives to increase market share, revenue, and profitability.
- Building collaborative relationships with Bank leaders to generate profitable customer relationships.
- Supporting the development and monitoring of profit plans and financial objectives.
- Communicating and tracking annual business plans with all key stakeholders.
- Monitoring regulatory requirements, issues, and trends to ensure compliance and taking corrective action when necessary.
- Define and deliver a robust product strategy and roadmap for GTB’s Deposit Account & Liquidity Management solutions, including deposit pricing and margin management, across all markets, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic priorities and GTB’s overall goals.
- Collaborate with GTB Product Managers and partners to analyze market research, client feedback, product metrics, and competitive intelligence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and identifying new market opportunities.
- Communicate a holistic, client-centric product vision, strategy, roadmap, success metrics, and progress to internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, and partners across all markets.
- Manage operational, technology, risk, compliance, and expense requirements by:
- Creating an environment that promotes efficient operations in line with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
- Ensuring effective day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
- Directing activities consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and appetite, and communicating these principles throughout the team.
- Addressing reporting, regulatory, compliance issues, and client complaints within required timeframes.
- Containing direct expenses and managing costs effectively.
- Ensuring operational and technology requirements are resourced appropriately, including building alliances with internal and external IT suppliers.
- Build a high-performance team and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates talent by fostering an inclusive work environment, promoting a coaching mindset, communicating vision and strategy, and managing succession and development planning.
What You'll Bring:
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in banking product development and management, including end-to-end lifecycle management of Deposit Accounts & Liquidity solutions.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies that drive growth and transformation across substantial businesses or portfolios.
- Deep understanding of global banking, financial markets, risk management, and treasury operations, with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
