The Team
Reporting to the Global Head, Automation & Defense, the Director, Use Case Development & Alerting is responsible for managing a team that serves as the global center of expertise for alerting and use case development for the Cyber Security response teams.
The role:
As part of Scotiabank's CSO department, the level 9 Director, Use Case Development & Alerting
Will work with the Log Orchestration team to ensure that assets and applications within the bank are logging to the enterprise log management solution while also ensuring that proper use cases are developed, and alerts are generated for the response teams within Cyber Security Operations.

Oversee that business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Provide guidance and input into new use cases required to detect and protect the bank from threats.

Recommend security solutions and controls to improve deficiencies identified during an investigation.

Participate as a key stakeholder in the Bank’s Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) and incident management engagements

Translate complex technical problems into terms and processes that support the functional goals, strategic initiatives, and business alignment of a dynamic growth company.

Continue to improve processes including feedback to areas under review regarding control issues.
