The Director, Transformation Office leads and oversees a portfolio in the Global Wealth Management (GWM) Transformation Office, ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered with a primary focus on regulatory commitments in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The Director plays a key role supporting business and technology partners with the execution of major regulatory change initiatives, as well as broader efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic growth initiatives across GWM business units. One of the principal objectives is to provide end to end program/project management support on critical, high-priority business initiatives through effective use of common project management methodologies, tools, templates, education, and training. The work focuses on leadership, problem solving and driving results.

 

As Director, you will partner with various business lines across Wealth and the Bank, providing leadership and executional capabilities to ensure GWM is able to deliver and sustain the full benefits of project management standards, methodologies, and best practices. As the leader of a portfolio of initiatives, you will oversee multiple complex projects of diverse sizes, and you and your team will be accountable to ensure that successful program/project outcomes are a priority. You will engage with key executives and senior stakeholders across GWM and the Bank. While engaging internal stakeholders, your role is to lead, oversee and ensure effective project delivery and sustainable project benefits. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead and drive a client-driven culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
  • Lead a portfolio of high‑priority regulatory initiatives across GWM business units, as well as related strategic and operational initiatives
  • Be accountable for the planning, execution, and timely delivery of a portfolio of projects/programs (with $10M+ budgets) aligned to business goals
  • Lead program teams on complex and time sensitive initiatives spanning technology, business and regulatory, requiring engagement of multiple senior executive stakeholders across the Bank
  • Partner with Business and Finance teams in annual strategic/financial planning related to portfolio of critical, high-priority GWM programs/projects
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships and resourcing including RFP, TPRM (Third Party Risk Management), onboarding, workshops, and offboarding
  • Develop, disseminate, and present portfolio KPIs and other key project/program metrics to senior executives across GWM
  • Establish a two-way communication process with project participants, senior management, and all other stakeholders to maintain support, negotiate priorities, resolve issues, and ensure effective delivery across portfolio of programs/projects
  • Build strategic relationships with key senior executives across the organization to ensure project/program priorities are aligned with business strategy
  • Create, deliver, and present project artifacts to senior executives on a portfolio of initiatives, priorities, and key implementation updates including Steering and Operating Committees
  • Manage personal development to ensure knowledge and skills related to project management and process improvement are continually refined/enhanced by
  • Researching best practices from best-in-class project/program and portfolio management sources, taking courses designed around people, process, and technology from leading institutes and by building relationships with key internal and external partners across all levels
  • Coach, mentor, and actively develop managers, senior managers, and contractor resources on the team, building talent, skills, and capabilities in alignment with a high-performance team

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • A post-secondary degree with a minimum of 10+ years’ related experience including extensive experience in project management and productivity improvement
  • In-depth knowledge of Wealth Management businesses, operational processes, client journeys, and regulatory environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated expertise leading end‑to‑end delivery of regulatory initiatives across multiple business lines and technology platforms
  • Expertise in Portfolio/Program/Project Management methodologies, tools, and templates
  • Certification in PMP is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and critical thinking
  • Comfort in managing multiple concurrent, high priority initiatives
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to engage and influence stakeholders collaboratively at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and oral communications, including expert presentation capabilities
  • The ability to lead change, are results-oriented with strong interpersonal, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Spanish is considered an asset
