The Team

The Director, Strategy Enablement & Execution, is responsible for driving alignment across Technology, Finance, and Transformation to ensure coordinated, outcome-focused delivery of strategic priorities and end-to-end investment journeys across Wealth and GBM.

The Role

Acting as a central integration point, this role absorbs cross-functional coordination, portfolio oversight, and execution challenges to drive business operation and improve team efficiency.  The mandate spans three work streams, including vendor and contract optimization, ensuring effective lifecycle management, compliance, and value realization; portfolio management and performance, including oversight of the end-to-end investment journey lifecycle (intake, business case development, prioritization, delivery, and benefits realization) to ensure alignment and coordination across all streams of work; and targeted execution support, deploying into priority initiatives and challenged areas to stabilize delivery, resolve root causes, and implement improvements before transitioning ownership.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Partner with technology leadership to shape and monitor strategic priorities to drive alignment across Technology, Finance and Transformation to deliver strategic priorities and investment outcomes across Wealth and GBM
  • Act as the central integration point for strategic priorities. including coordination, execution oversight, and portfolio complexity
  • Drive influence across business lines and the enterprise technology organization, engaging effectively with senior and executive leadership
  • Lead vendor and contract optimization, including lifecycle management, compliance, and value realization across key technology suppliers
  • Lead portfolio management, acting as the central orchestrator across all streams of work, ensuring alignment of priorities, funding, and execution while enabling effective COO support to the CIO
  • Lead endtoend Technology Spend Review (TSR) submissions on behalf of leadership, consolidating inputs, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities, and driving clear, decisionready recommendations for approval.
  • Provide full visibility into the investment pipeline, including intake, business cases, in-flight initiatives, and delivery outcomes
  • Provide advisory support on business cases and benefits realization, ensuring transparency between projected outcomes and actual results
  • Deploy into priority initiatives and challenged areas to stabilize delivery, identify root causes, and implement targeted improvements across people, process, and governance
  • Drive execution acceleration by removing blockers, improving coordination, and enabling faster decision-making
  • Conduct thematic reviews across processes to identify inefficiencies and proactively implement continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 8+ years’ experience in strategy execution, operations, portfolio management, consulting or transformation within financial services or a large enterprise environment
  • University degree or work equivalency (BA or MBA in business, finance or economics).
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable outcomes in dynamic environments
  • Strong experience identifying and resolving execution challenges across people, process, and governance
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in an agile, delivery-focused model, managing multiple priorities and adapting quickly to changing needs
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect strategy to execution and tangible results
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior and executive leadership
  • Proven leadership experience building and managing high-performing teams
  • Experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives is considered an asset
  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
