Purpose
 

Responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of key initiatives and sustainment programs that drive the engagement and growth of our Scotia Wealth Management (SWM) Total Wealth offering among clients, businesses, and internal partners across Scotiabank. This includes providing training, coaching and resources to key in-field roles across our SWM Client Solutions team and Wealth Management lines of business. The incumbent also provides leadership across various efforts in support of promoting and embedding Client Solutions within the Scotia Wealth Management client experience, such as implementing new business development projects, developing corporate insights, driving communications, providing training and marketing support, and managing regular business planning activities.
 

Contributes to the overall success of the Practice Excellence team within Scotia Wealth Management, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 

The Practice Excellence team provides training, practice management and analytics solutions that are aligned to SWM’s strategic priorities and is focused on enabling our in-field advisory teams and leaders to effectively run and grow Total Wealth businesses at every stage of the employee life cycle.
 

Accountabilities
 

  • Lead key initiatives and sustainment programs that drive advisor/relationship manager engagement and execution of the Scotia Wealth Management Total Wealth strategy. This includes The Scotiabank Women Initiative and Total Wealth programs, to support advisor teams and relationship managers ability to articulate and deliver on our Total Wealth value proposition. It will also include designing and executing other key initiatives and targeted programs intended to reflect the diverse communities we serve, develop new opportunities, drive business results, and enhance the delivery of Client Solutions across the Scotiabank.
  • Support key roles within the Client Solutions group including Partnership and Priority Segments, Total Wealth Transformation, Total Wealth Planning and Insurance and Advanced Planning and Services teams to support the consistent execution of delivering a team-based approach to wealth management solutions to increase client loyalty and enhance their experience. This includes providing subject matter expertise and guidance to in-field Total Wealth Managers and partnering with Client Solutions Regional Directors to create a forum for peer sharing and learning. It will also include consulting on matters related to technical coaching and professional development.
  • Build and manage third-party strategic relationships with external coaching and consulting partners, working together with leadership across the Practice Excellence and Total Wealth Transformation teams to ensure successful business outcomes and alignment with Scotia Wealth Management’s growth strategy.
  • Developing strategies and tactics to incorporate identified industry and internal best practices into the programs and initiatives delivered.
  • Drive the promotion of the Practice Excellence team and Client Solutions related to employee awareness across Scotia Wealth Management and Scotiabank partner channels through effective communication and marketing initiatives, including the development of corporate insights (Net Promoter Score) that will support ongoing business development efforts. This also includes liaising with the broader Communications, Marketing, Learning and Development and other key stakeholders across Scotiabank to ensure our approach is aligned, that we leverage their resources and infrastructure, and that Client Solutions is embedded within overarching programs.
  • Leads and drives a client-focused culture throughout their team to deepen client and advisor/relationship manager relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Experience
 

  • A minimum of five (5) years of Wealth Management experience
  • University degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration
  • Previous experience working with Wealth Management advisor/relationship manager teams
  • Experience leading a team of approximately up to five (5) employees
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course would be an asset
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret data and information from various sources.
  • A proven track record of delivering end-to-end programs and processes, working with multiple business lines and stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills, including oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver training and coaching material across multi-stakeholder initiatives to senior leadership and to in-field teams
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
