The Director, Retail Investments Client Growth & Engagement is responsible for accelerating profitable growth across the Retail Investments portfolio, including Mutual Funds, Registered Plans, GICs, and other investment solutions. The role leads the strategic assessment of opportunities across client acquisition, investment penetration, engagement and retention. This role also leads the team to execute those opportunities through targeted campaigns, partnerships, client journeys and field engagement, working with partners across customer insights, marketing, and distribution to drive net sales growth and AUM. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and execute the client acquisition and engagement strategy for the Retail Investments portfolio, identifying opportunities to increase number of clients, investment penetration, engagement, retention, and assets under management.
  • Define and track key business metrics across the client lifecycle, including acquisition, activation, cross-sell, retention, sales, and AUM growth.
  • Identify and prioritize the highest-value growth opportunities through analysis of customer behaviour, market trends, competitive insights, and portfolio performance.
  • Lead the development and execution of acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies across the Retail Investments portfolio, including Mutual Funds, GICs, and Registered Plans. 
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable growth initiatives, including campaigns, client journeys, lead generation programs, offers, communication/marketing strategies and personalization strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional squads and influence stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Analytics, Digital, Channels, Distribution, Finance, and Operations to deliver business results.
  • Leverage customer insights, analytics, research, and test-and-learn methodologies to optimize conversion, engagement, client outcomes, and return on investment.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach to growth, ensuring value propositions, client experiences, and engagement strategies align to the needs of mass and strategic customer segments.
  • Manage and optimize marketing and incentive investments, developing business cases and performance measurement frameworks to maximize growth and profitability.
  • Ensure all initiatives are executed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, Bank policies, risk appetite, and compliance standards.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Leads and drives a client focused culture throughout their team and the Canadian Retail Bank. 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:  

  • 8+ years of experience in client growth strategy, consulting, product management, marketing, or client lifecycle management within financial services or related industries.
  • Experience developing and executing growth strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, including experience assessing market opportunities, customer experience/journeys, and business performance.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging customer data, business performance metrics, and market insights to inform decision making.
  • Experience executing programs including campaigns, journeys, or commercial initiatives.
  • Executive presence with exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in retail banking, wealth management, investments, fintech, management consulting, corporate strategy, or growth-focused roles is considered a strong asset.
