Purpose

 

The Director, Regulatory Program Management contributes to the overall success of Customer Insights, Data & Analytics (CID&A) by working with the CID&A teams to implement enterprise-wide regulatory programs. The role is accountable for delivering complex and enterprise projects and/or portfolios of projects (programs), leading cross-functional teams in support of the data and analytics strategy.   

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:

 

•    Program manage the implementation of regulatory programs, working closely with CIDA and business lines to create implementation roadmaps and execution of roadmap.
•    Manage the program funding by preparing business case funding (SIP) requests, as well as clear articulation of business outcomes.
•    After business case approval, tracking actuals against plan and making any spend adjustments as required
•    Identifies, manages, and communicates programs risks, inter-dependencies, and issues (and works to resolve them) in program following the Bank’s enterprise delivery framework (EDF) plan to ensure that the program is delivered with quality, on time and on budget
•    Ongoing communication of program status, completing the monthly status reports and escalating issues to the Business Sponsor, IT&S Sponsor and PMO as required. Work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
•    Ensure the documentation and archiving of program/project activities, deliverables, tools and finders for use in future projects.
•    Responsible for program management and portfolio level reporting for all initiatives/projects engaged with; includes tracking, status reporting, executive dashboard etc.
•    Develop creative solutions to resolve complex problems
•    Negotiation and management of contractual obligations with third parties as required. 
•    The position requires expert team building skills to create and sustain highly motivated groups with diverse and multifunctional reporting units, including external parties that are most often not within the incumbent’s direct supervision. This includes maintaining the momentum of the project or program against the background of changing and occasionally conflicting priorities.
•    Builds talent within CID&A and champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. 
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following:


•    3 or more years experience in the financial services industry, managing large complex projects, that have significant operational components
•    8 or more years in project & program management and delivery.  Agile experience an asset 
•    PMP Designation an asset
•    Experience with JIRA, Confluence, CA-PPM, MS Projects are assets    •    
                                        

Working Conditions
