The Director, Regulatory Initiatives Group will contribute to the Global Wealth Management (GWM) Non-Financial Risk Program by leading a team responsible for assessing and implementing regulatory changes and supporting the development and maintenance of effective compliance related policies and providing strategic support to non-routine regulatory initiatives.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and advise business units and senior management on regulatory-related proposals and requirements
- Lead the Global Wealth Management (GWM) response to regulatory proposals
- Support the delivery of work product to address regulatory related changes
- Engage with the business unit and functional support groups to influence decision-making related to new regulatory-related requirements
- Lead the business response to regulatory related change, leading the development of solutions and ensuring that changes to business policies, controls, processes, and systems are implemented in a timely and effective manner
- Establish and oversee project governance and cross-functional teams composed of subject matter experts from impacted business units, second line control functions and other relevant support groups
- Ensure coordination with business units and controls functions to transition projects to business-as usual processes
- Support the development and maintenance of effective business unit policies and procedures
- Maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to GWM’s businesses
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- University degree
- Law degree considered a significant asset
- Strong regulatory knowledge applicable to Wealth Management businesses (e.g., CIRO, OSC, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Wealth Management businesses - products, services, operations, systems, and practices
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization and tailor messages appropriately
- An ability to drive success in a high performing, flexible team environment
- Proven experience developing partnerships with and successfully coordinating across various Business, Finance, Technology, Operations and Control partners/stakeholders
- Experience leading and implementing change in a complex corporate environment
