Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) ensures key organization-level risks are identified and are mitigated through the development, implementation, and management of enterprise risk frameworks, appetites, key policies, controls, and risk reporting. In addition, ERM provides independent challenge and advice and counsel to business lines and subsidiaries on these enterprise risks.



The Recovery & Resolution team is responsible for the continuing enhancement of the Bank’s Recovery and Resolution Plans, undertaking testing programs and providing advice & counsel to subsidiaries to ensure cross-jurisdictional consistency.


The Director, Recovery & Resolution Plan Editor is accountable for developing and maintaining the Plans with a focus on strengthening capabilities and enhancing our resilience to possible financial crises.          


Key Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced analyses and content development related to the submission of the Bank's Plans
    • Development of related Recovery and Resolution Playbooks as well as executive summaries for Senior Management and regulatory review
    • Liaise with, and provide an enterprise perspective to all Business/legal entity/functional areas across the Bank involved in the development of the Plans
    • Reviews and finalizes the Plans in close collaboration with the VP RRP, Director Recovery Planning and the Director Resolution Planning
    • Ensures accuracy, alignment and cohesion within and across the Resolution and Recovery Plans
  • Development of summary reports/presentations for Senior Management review and approval.
  • Oversees a change management process to ensure that relevant organizational and operational changes, as well as the results of recovery and resolution testing activities are reflected in the Plans in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ownership/oversight of the process related to the aggregation/annual updating and submission of the Plans
  • Ongoing understanding of current as well as emerging trends across the industry/regulatory environment.

  • Experience managing large, cross-functional documents
  • Proven leadership capabilities; strong strategic thinking, change management, and strategic influencing skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including implementing solutions in response to regulatory changes and guidance
  • Strong knowledge of the Bank’s organizational structure and operations
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian Financial sector regulation
  • Knowledge of CDIC guidance on Resolution Planning and OSFI requirements on Recovery Planning considered a strong asset


Experience/ Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Communications
  • Postgraduate degree in Business or Communications is preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, investor relations, and/or similar regulatory reporting responsibilities
  • Previous experience in large scale/multi-stakeholder projects including the ability to , educate, coach and  or persuade a wide variety of constituents is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in recovery and resolution planning is considered an asset.
  • Previous involvement in the preparation of high-profile regulatory documents and/or interaction with regulators is an asset
