The Role
To help grow, inspire, and lead our Product & Design Capability team. Reporting to the VP of Business Architecture & Transformation, this is a key role responsible for setting the strategic direction and implementation of various key CX Journey and E2E process capabilities that is rooted in addressing the needs of our customers and further Scotiabank’s digital mandate.
The incumbent will utilize a product design-led approach to set the vision and strategic direction for digital customer journeys (as specified), while developing and prioritizing digital roadmaps to balance the needs of the business and the customer.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Sets the direction and strategic vision for a multi-year capability roadmap and provides oversight on the delivery of projects within the portfolio. Autonomously drives short and long-term product vision, strategy, goal setting, and execution for the journeys, product capabilities and platforms.
- Engage & cultivate relationships with key stakeholders from retail deposits, payments, unsecured lending, Fraud, Enterprise payments and, various business lines (e.g., Commercial, Retail & Small Business, International) and partners with Vendors and other stakeholder groups such as CX.
- Prioritizes, negotiates, and removes obstacles to ensure quality digital product launches.
- Collaborates and closely partners with Engineering, Design and Analytics organizations to drive data-driven product development through product discovery, research, product experimentation and validation.
- Drives new product innovation that meets business context and engages them to build the right products on time. Builds and serves a highly effective and cohesive product development team, including expertise in product design and product management; leads a team of high performing Group Product/Product Managers delivering a best-in-class digital experience.

- Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 8+ years of experience in a role building customer-facing digital products and capabilities, preferably focused on Salesforce/nCino or like SAS products.
- A proven knowledge of Retail and Small Business and/or Commercial payments ecosystem and strong appreciation for the payment modernization efforts currently underway in Canada & Globally
- Managed multiple technology products and digital payment journeys end-to-end, from inception to delivery that were focused on making – Digital payments & commerce experience seamless.
- Experienced in building a product vision, rooted in customer needs in your past roles and have successfully achieved it through a sound execution strategy.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and have a flair for getting things done.
- Ability to prioritize work while multi-tasking on several high-profile projects with a keen eye on details.
- Curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
