The Director of Insights & Analytics within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is a leadership role responsible for the accurate and timely monthly production of Board and Management Key Risk Indicators. This role ensures critical risk-related metrics are published to the Parent/Subsidiary Boards and associated regulators in full alignment with the Bank’s Risk Appetite Framework. The leader fosters collaboration, promotes excellence, and champions a culture of continuous improvement and shared accountability.
Provides strategic direction, leadership and ownership of all current Key Risk Indicators oversight with a strong focus on definition and delivery of the target-state Metrics Program which will facilitate faster development of new metrics, data lake for drilldown/granular analysis, and improved visualization/reporting to drive remediation outcomes.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Own on-time accurate generation of all current and committed Board and Management KRI metrics, including the reporting of these metrics into risk committees and regulatory routines.
- Drive continuous improvement of existing KRIs to improve efficiency, quality, granularity and usability of KRI metrics.
- Design and implement a new Data Lake to support more frequent and more granular metric development.
- Create new self-service drilldown capabilities for actional reporting.
- Develop new metrics in close partnership with Metric Owners.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in delivery practices, leveraging automation, data insights, and modern engineering principles.
- Establish governance practices that align with enterprise standards, address 2LOD challenge, and meet Board/regulatory expectations.
- Proactively identify and address risks, dependencies, and challenges to support successful outcomes.
- Provide transparent and meaningful reporting to senior executives on commitments to plan.
- Own the creation and closure of all audit, risk, and self-identified issues within the Insights & Analytics space.
- Build trusted relationships with partners/leaders across all three lines of defense.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate potential concerns from key partners and influence manage across conflicting viewpoints.
- Communicate credibly and effectively both verbally and in writing with senior executives (across all three lines of defense), technical Metric Owners, regulators and board members.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of delivery professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and shared accountability.
- Encourage continuous learning and adoption of best practices, including agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and integration across teams, functions, and geographies.
- Manage resource planning and team priorities.
- Own all vendor partnerships.
- Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
- Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience data, development and/or transformation roles within financial services or similarly complex industries.
- Detail- and action-oriented with a proven track record of delivering fit-for-purpose solutions as committed.
- Strong understanding of technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, regulatory environment, and risk management practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills with ability to engage senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and inspire large teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
- University degree in Business, Technology, or related field.
