Purpose
As the Director, Global Head for Non-Financial Risk Assessments & Records Management, you will provide strategic global leadership and oversight for non-financial risk across Global Banking and Markets (GBM). You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and governance of the Non-Financial Risk Assessment and Records Management programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role requires close collaboration with GBM business lines, Global Risk Management, Technology, Compliance, Legal, and other key stakeholders to drive consistency, efficiency, and risk mitigation across the enterprise.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the governance and globally consistent execution of Non-financial Risk Assessments; such as: RCSA - Risk Control Self Assessments, CRCA - Compliance Risk Control Assessments, Third Party Risk Management, New Initiative Assessments, including control library minimum standard.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing performance monitoring of GBM Records Management program, which captures record lifecycle performance and risk indicators and record disposition, including identification and education about redundant, obsolete, and trivial records.
- Lead referred reviews/analysis from Internal Control regional teams, Legal, Compliance or Executive Management.
- Act as central global GBM subject matter and advocate to drive efficiency and simplification for Non-financial Risk Assessment and Record and Information Management solutions, policies and standards.
- Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement to teams.
- Create an environment where the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in operational or regulatory risk management, within capital markets or financial services.
- Deep expertise in Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA). You understand how to design, execute, and interpret RCSAs to identify and mitigate operational risks effectively.
- Strong knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks, with a clear understanding of what excellence looks like in governance, risk controls, and compliance practices across complex, global environments.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory recordkeeping requirements and operational risk frameworks.
- Proven leadership in managing global teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a high-performance, inclusive, and customer-focused team culture.
