Job Purpose:

Leads and oversees the Employee Portals function for Employee Experience Technology in partnership with the wider EET team, Enterprise Technology, business partners and the global bank strategy. You will contribute to the strategy and direction of EET, providing leadership, establishing best practices and creating roadmaps for the technology under your ownership.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ownership of key platforms used globally through-out Scotiabank. Specific platforms include: Employee Communications (Scotiabank Live (intranet), Workplace); Content Management (CM, CMOD, BOX); Sharepoint and Services to support HR Technology: Recognition, Single Sign-on, Integration, etc.
  • Extensive interaction with Information Security, PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and Records Retention teams in regards to evolving standards of data management and safe-keeping.  Senior Management level visibility and interaction to propose and support solutions to new Regulatory requirements.
  • Prime Relationship Management role for Global Communications, very broad business relationships across the Canadian and International Bank.
  • Next Generation Evolution. Continue to build out the vision and lead execution of Unison, the plan to create Content Management as a Service for the BNS Global Enterprise.  Bringing a Product mindset to decomposing the multiple CM tools with a target of achieving cost savings for the organization and superior service for consumers across the Bank.
  • Execution of roadmaps to move all applications/products to Cloud and bring all technologies within the group into alignment with Plato.

  • Exercises strong leadership, negotiating and influencing skills across the organizational levels, coordinating initiatives to meet collective needs of multiple internal stakeholder departments  
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
