We are seeking a Director for Digital Product Management to help grow, inspire, and lead the Digital Product team responsible. Reporting to the Head of Design and Product for customer and product onboarding, this will be a key role responsible for setting the strategic direction and implementation of strategy for welcoming customers to the bank as well as making sure that they receive relevant and timely offerings, addressing their needs and further Scotiabank’s digital mandate.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge 
  • Drive short- and long-term product vision, strategy, goal setting, and execution for the established journeys, as well as for new ones. 
  • Engage & cultivate relationships with key stakeholders from our business line partners. 
  • Continuously perform customer need analysis and understand business pain points. Identify the biggest problems to solve to build & own the roadmap. 
  • Lead a team of 4-6 product managers. Develop and grow talent through effective mentoring and succession planning for key talent. 
  • Help your team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to ensure quality product launches 
  • Collaborate with the Engineering & Design teams, providing them business context and engaging them to build the right products on time 
  • Practice and encourage data informed decision making & hypothesis driven product development, in the team and also in the organization 
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 8+ years of experience in a role building customer facing digital products, financial product sales experience would be a plus. 
  • A proven knowledge of the digital banking ecosystem and strong appreciation for the modernization efforts currently underway in Canada. 
  • Managed multiple technology products and digital journeys end-to-end, from inception to delivery.  
  • You have built a product vision, rooted in customer needs in your past roles and have successfully achieved it through a sound execution strategy. 
  • You have exceptional problem-solving skills and have a flair for getting things done.
  • Ability to prioritize work while multi-tasking on several high-profile projects with a keen eye on details. 
  • You have a curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
