As the Director, Digital Product Management, Automotive Finance, will be responsible for the customer's voice as you work with design, technical teams and business leaders to set strategy and define the Automotive Finance product. You’ll be responsible for leading a team-mandated with the transformation of traditional auto financing models into software products and digital experiences that will meet the evolving expectations of today’s consumer. You’ll help re-imagine and define how consumers apply, customize and finalize their car financing in a digital world. In addition to defining the long-term product strategy, you’ll define the product roadmap and identify feature sets prioritized by business value.
 

Is this role right for you?

  • You have the ability to organize and motivate teams and will work closely with the existing automotive finance business lines, engineers, designers, sales, marketing, finance, and others to create a cohesive product vision and strategy. 
  • You have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive fast-paced product development at Scotiabank.  
  • You will help to build and mentor a team of Digital Product Managers and partner with software engineering, design, data, and analytics to manage the products through the software development lifecycle within an agile framework.
     

What you’ll do

  • You’ll identify market opportunities, define the product vision and strategy and deliver the digital auto finance products, services or experiences that will support said strategy
  • You’ll engage closely with the engineering and design teams to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedule.
  • You’ll support the definition of the Digital Retailing product strategy and roadmap requirements to drive P&L goals for specific Digital Retailing product lines. This includes developing and presenting business case justification for new product initiatives and enhancements.
  • You’ll work with external partners, customers and/or vendors to understand business process and flows to deliver software solutions that meet business needs
  • You’ll also work with cross-functional solutions teams to deliver integrated solutions across the various automotive finance platforms
  • You’ll need to collect and analyze data on customer preferences and needs to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand, which includes conducting market research that will assist in driving feature prioritization.
  • You’ll need to spend time in new markets researching the business processes required for new product initiatives and in current markets, assessing functional enhancement prioritization.
  • You’ll devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, preparing reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text.
     

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed?

  • You’ve got experience working with software engineering and software product management teams on complex systems, with progressive growth and demonstrated success managing and delivering software products
  • You have a deep understanding of the evolving Automotive Finance industry
  • You love data and have strong analytical skills
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative and Agile environment
  • You have advanced level experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence and MS Excel
  • You’ve got excellent critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • You’re skilled at sound inductive reasoning with the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusion
