Director, Development, Global Wealth Engineering
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of complex transformational programs in the advisor engineering space.
- Align on a multi year business technology roadmap with all the relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong hands on experience in delivery of multi year business value driven programs
- Provide thought leadership in selecting next-generation technologies and architecture components as per the latest trends and Scotiabank standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Promote a client-first mindset across the enterprise to enable Scotiabank to become a stronger organization
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate cross-project or cross-program dependencies while managing relationships, anticipating/mitigating risks, facilitating communications, and leading projects in an agile fashion.
- Engage sponsoring executives and project team members, establishing trusted partnerships to ensure deliveries within scope, budget, and timelines while effectively communicating and discussing analytic insights with senior stakeholders.
- Balance collaboration and consensus with the ability to assert project management discipline where required, while being a seasoned practitioner in leading project teams through fast and complex projects.
- Work in an agile manner to deliver business value iteratively
- Lead a team of 50+, including business systems analysts, developers and delivery leads.
- Excel in relationship, stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills, effective at all levels up to senior executives.
- Efficiently perform management tasks including incident response and escalations, vendor and contract management, infrastructure management, service resiliency, and service ownership.
- Enjoy the challenges of working on different types of projects (from large complex to simple).
- Collaborate with various business functions to ensure Wealth Technology meets business needs.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Minimum 10+ years in a leading technology delivery
- Hands on experience in leading end to end complex programs.
- Track record of hiring and managing high performing engineering teams.
- Hands-on technical leadership in defining complex technology solutions with internal teams and vendor teams
- Expertise in Wealth business and technology, particularly on Advisor applications.
- Experience with leading development teams focussed on API development and ETL development
- Well versed in leading complex migrations and modernizing end-to-end technology stack to deliver business value
- Strong people management and analytical abilities to help drive multi million dollars of roadmap to fruition.
- Experience in owning and managing technology vendors (vendor products and staff augmentation/managed services)
