Purpose

Leads and oversees GBM Business Continuity and Operational Resilience teams globally business strategies plans and initiatives are executed/ delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Lead GBM efforts to prevent, adapt to, respond to, recover, and learn from operational disruptions in collaboration with other BLs and risk management groups (ECBCM, GRM etc.)
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure GBM BCP and Operational Resilience programs, processes and procedures are compliant with existing policies (i.e. records management)
  • Represent GBM on related committees, crisis task forces and working groups (external and internal)
  • Ensure audits are managed per the ‘Audit Commencement Advice’ and close all audit findings within the agreed to timelines
  • Manage all business continuity compliance including reporting, and testing plans.
  • Manage alternate site readiness in collaboration with IT and facilities teams
  • Manage deployment of BCP tools (i.e. Fusion dBase, Everbridge)
  • Provide timely evaluation on NIRAs for Business Continuity risk category as required
  • Support TPRM review of 3rd party contracts to ensure compliance as required
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in business-related studies or equivalent
  • Knowledge and skills in project management and business continuity
  • Advanced computer skills particularly MS Office
  • Strategic mindset
  • Strong organization, collaboration and communications skills

 

Work Arrangement:

This position is largely an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 3-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
