- Business Architecture & Capability Modeling
- Develop the Business Architecture target state through the Business Capability Model (BCM) and support key strategic programs.
- Design business capability models and provide architectural solutions that link IT architecture with business operations.
- Assess organizational capacity, identify capability gaps, and recommend investment models aligned with funding and strategic goals.
- Measure the effectiveness of business strategies and their implementation outcomes.
- Enterprise Integration & Roadmap Development
- Ensure alignment with all business lines, not just within GBM, to establish an integrated and scalable roadmap for future growth.
- Focus on geographic consistency, streamlined business processes, and infrastructure improvements to reduce operational and regulatory risk.
- Partner with the GBM technology architecture team to evaluate and align strategic initiatives with business capabilities.
- Process Documentation & Standardization
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive library of front-to-back process documentation.
- Drive consistency in process flow standards across teams, complementing data lineage and system architecture efforts.
- Innovation & Future-State Design
- Maintain awareness of industry-leading practices and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with technology teams to incorporate innovations, such as AI, cloud computing, and automation, into the vision for target-state business processes.
- Service Delivery Optimization
- Identify opportunities to consolidate common capabilities and recommend organizational transformation strategies, including shared services.
- Promote efficiency across horizontal functions, enabling economies of scale, labor cost optimization, and time zone leverage.
- Governance & Execution Support
- Actively participate in the New Initiative Approval (NIA) process, streamlining functional inputs and helping to achieve meaningful, commercially viable outcomes.
- Support early expectation management and reduce friction by identifying pragmatic paths forward.
- Tactical Alternatives & Agile Solutions
- Maintain awareness of tactical tools and capabilities, such as Alteryx, RPA, and Microsoft Power Platform, that can complement strategic investments.
- Recommend controlled, near-term solutions where appropriate, balancing agility with long-term vision.
- Cost Attribution & Financial Transparency
- Collaborate with Finance to leverage a well-structured capability map for more precise cost allocation.
- Enhance transparency and accuracy in financial planning and reporting through capability-based frameworks.
- Operational Risk Alignment
- Work with Internal Control and Enterprise Risk teams to align capability frameworks and taxonomies with operational processes.
- Improve clarity in identifying the origins of operational risk and expedite mitigation efforts.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience & Expertise
- 5+ years in business architecture, with additional experience in project execution or transformation preferred.
- Deep understanding of capital markets products and services, including M&A, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious metals equity and debt financing, trading, and risk management.
