Title:  Digital Risk Product Manager

Purpose of Job:

  • Scotiabank has a clear mandate to transform the way banking technology is delivered, by reimaging the customer experience, fostering innovation to deliver new digital value propositions and enabling our teams to drive significant changes across the organization and for our customers.
  • The Digital Risk Product Manager is accountable for launching new Risk Management initiatives in partnership with the Digital Factory. Leveraging their ability to organize and motivate teams, they will work with Product lines, Bank Stakeholders and Software Developers to translate customer journey directives into actionable deliverables, and follow through to completion.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • :Develop and execute on the Product Vision and Roadmap that is tied to desired Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)
  • Manage and prioritize backlog contents, ensuring sufficient depth of items for development consumption and commitment
  • Serve as the primary source of external information for the Scrum teams, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability, the intended value to the customer, and functional/non-functional requirements
  • Facilitate problem solving on a day-today basis as required, working closely with development on implementation challenges
  • Play a leadership role in the Scrum team to ensure that capabilities are in-scope, on-time and of high quality.

 

Skills/ Experience:

  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience
  • Experience working with development teams and systems integrators to deliver successful solutions
  • Effective communication, project management and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on translating business requirements into technology solutions

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience analyzing large data sets using SQL, spreadsheet software or other quantitative and statistical modelling tools
  • Experience working with large and multiple datasets
  • Development experience in a scripting language (JavaScript, Python, Perl, etc)
