Are you the right person for this role?

As the digital marketing internal communications manager, you can expect your role to typically involve some or all of the following:

Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with the digital marketing leadership team

Actively participate and run the regular team communication vehicles, all hands, quarterly meetings and more.

Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders

Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff blogs, monthly global digital marketing newsletter.

Storyboard or translate ideas to the creative team of art directors and designers

Support the launch of an employee engagement campaign and use social media channels and collaboration networks to communicate internally across the digital factory and the bank

Deliver presentations at organizational events, such as team meetings

Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form

Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communication

Be the link between IB / Digital external communications and the Digital Factories globally

Participant in external marketing & communication programs that showcase thought leadership and share of voice in the market place around the topic of digital banking.

Support, monitor and showcase Sr. digital marketing employees and executives in external speaking engagements

Engage in other initiatives as they come up and work load permits.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

Writing skills: You need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees

 

Speaking skills: You also need strong speaking skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to staff. Internal communications managers need sensitivity to an organization’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees

 

Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with communications and other departments. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.

Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential.

Experience in a communications team, for a large organization. General journalistic or marketing experience is beneficial. Prior management of complex projects and advising senior managers ideal.

You have a proven ability to multi-task and work quickly, efficiently and accurately to meet deadlines

You understanding “the customer journey” and how to apply it to both internal and external stakeholders

You have a high aptitude for diving in, taking ownership and picking up new things

You're eager to mentor, teach and share your ideas in a team environment

You have open and transparent communication, including the ability to distil technical details into human terms
