The role:
Contributes to the overall success of the EDL ingestion team, IB Technology in Canada (Supporting CCA region) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What will you do?
Champion a client centric culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Create design procedures, writing codes, performing testing, debug, trouble shoot technical issues to support EDL ingestions for CCA region.
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintenance of data administration policy standards and models.
Develop policies and procedures for database access and usage for the backup and recovery of data
Lead data administration work including creation of data dictionary, data security standards, data warehouse analysis and technical architect work to support EDL data lake.
Confirm database architecture capabilities to support all EDL ingestions related requirements.
Perform and develop data ingestion and extract request from EDL/Data Lake/Data Stage platform or other data source based on user request.
Collaborate with stakeholders to design data solutions that drive data governance.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

The incumbent is responsible for supporting the following:
Perform and develop data ingestion and extract request from EDL/Data Lake/Data Stage platform or other data source based on user request.
Supporting ad hoc data requirements for regulatory reporting and strategy development for Senior management.
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing support.
Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Provide off hour support for the EDL data related tasks if required.
Good knowledge of Incident, Change management process and Service Requests, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics.
Proven working experience with DataStage, ETL systems. Hadoop Systems/Apache HIVE HQL, Oracle, SQL
Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, segmentation techniques, and Machine learning. Willing to learn or a fast learner
Coding/ Technical mindset with Wokring knowledge of at least one or more technologies (DataStage/ETL, Hadoop, Oracle, SQL, JavaScript, Java, .NET, UNIX, Python, Perl, BaSH, Spark, C/C++/C#, GCP/Google Cloud technologies etc.); Experience with the usage of version control tools like Bitbucket/GitHub.
Experience working in an agile development environment (Confluence, Jira, CiAD pipeline, Scrum/Kanban)
Experience in creating project estimates and budgeting
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
