The Role

As a Senior Data Architect, you will be accountable for defining and governing the enterprise data architecture for a modern Azure‑based data platform.

This role is architecture‑focused and hands‑on at the design level, with primary ownership of:

• Data modeling and data design patterns
• Scalable Lakehouse architecture
• Solution architecture across ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption
• Alignment to enterprise data governance, security, and performance standards

You will partner closely with engineering, analytics, platform, and business teams to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, governable, and fit for enterprise use.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture for Azure‑based data platforms using Synapse and Spark.
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption at scale.
• Establish and govern data design patterns (lakehouse zones, schemas, partitioning, data contracts, and semantic layers).
• Ensure data solutions meet scalability, performance, availability, and resilience requirements for global enterprise use.
• Provide architecture leadership across data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers.
• Review and guide solution designs produced by data engineers and analytics teams to ensure architectural consistency and quality.
• Partner with platform, security, and governance teams to ensure compliance with data privacy, access control, lineage, and auditability standards.
• Support strategic initiatives by translating business needs into end‑to‑end data solution architectures.
• Promote continuous improvement through experimentation, architectural modernization, and adoption of best practices.

What You Will Bring to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale data platforms, with demonstrated architecture ownership.
• Deep expertise in data modeling, data normalization/denormalization strategies, dimensional modeling, and analytical data design.
• Strong experience architecting Azure‑based data solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Apache Spark.
• Proven knowledge of lakehouse architecture patterns, including layered zones, schema management, and scalable data processing.
• Advanced SQL expertise and strong understanding of relational and analytical database fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of Python and Spark for architectural design validation and technical guidance.
• Strong understanding of enterprise concerns including data governance, metadata, lineage, security, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to guide technical teams and engage senior stakeholders.
