We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Developer to support automation and innovation initiatives across multiple strategic projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Python, with exposure to Spark, Hadoop, and cloud platforms considered a strong asset. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark, PySpark, Apache Beam, or Flink.
- Develop and enhance ETL/ELT workflows using Airflow and ETL tools such as Talend, Spring Batch, or NiFi.
- Work with structured and semi‑structured data (CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet, ORC, Iceberg) and apply data wrangling techniques using Python and pandas.
- Contribute to Test Automation Framework enhancements, ensuring reusable and scalable automation components.
- Support Group Intake Automation by translating business and operational requirements into backend workflows and data processes.
- Contribute to BotData Enhancement, developing synthetic data generation and validation logic using PySpark.
- Develop, test, and optimize Python scripts for automation, data transformations, and validation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives) and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support analytics, AML/KYC improvements, governance, and operational reporting.
- Implement DataOps/DevOps best practices including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Cloud Build), automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
- Perform data profiling, quality checks, and root-cause analysis to improve data reliability.
- Provide support for production systems, ensuring stability, observability, and continuous improvement.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 5+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in Data Engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in Java or Scala considered an asset.
- Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, Beam, or Flink for large‑scale data processing.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience building ETL/ELT workflows.
- Experience working with file formats such as Iceberg, Parquet, ORC, JSON, XML.
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures (Medallion, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse).
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Hands-on experience with GCP services (Airflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Build), or similar cloud platforms.
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD, Jenkins, Cloud Build, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with RDBMS technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and exposure to NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
- Experience with Linux/Unix CLI and shell scripting.
