Purpose


The Credit Documentation Specialist supports the centralized Credit Documentation Team within Private Banking Head Office by preparing, reviewing and validating credit related documentation including Credit Facility Agreements (CFAs), amending letters, and related documentation for all Private Banking. This role ensures documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with internal policies and regulatory standards. The Credit Documentation Specialist contributes to operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and client service excellence.

 

What you will be doing:

Responsible for the completion of all Private banking customized Credit Facility Agreements by:

  • Draft and validate Credit Facility Agreements (CFAs), amending letters, and related documents, ensuring alignment with credit approvals, legal standards and internal policies.
  • Promptly escalate discrepancies or non-standard terms to senior team members or Legal as required.
  • Liaise with Relationship Managers, Credit Structuring Team, GRM and Legal to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Provide timely status updates on documentation to stakeholders.
  • Manage a high volume of complex documentation while maintaining strict turnaround times.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness and adherence to the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering program and Guidelines for Business
  • Conduct, by reporting any unusual occurrences or fraudulent activities per established procedures. 

 

Contribute to the effective functioning of the Private Banking Head Office team by: 

  • Responsible for managing high volumes of complex credit documentation with strict turnaround times while maintaining a high level of client service. 
  • Adhering to documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls, regulatory frameworks, and audit standards.
  • Works with the Bank’s Legal department and other internal stakeholders to ensure documentation templates are up-to-date, and incorporate the latest regulatory, and credit requirements.
  • Participates in enterprise-wide projects and pilots related to documentation modernization related initiatives.
  • Actively identifying and providing recommendations/ideas for streamlining processes and systems improvements.
  • Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business lines and corporate function contacts.
  • Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication.
  • Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches. 
  • Developing and executing a meaningful employee development plan.

  • Working knowledge of Bank regulations, policies, procedures, and operations. 
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank’s Private Banking lending, services, policies and procedures. 

 


Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

 

  • University degree in business, finance, accounting or a related discipline required.
  • 3+ years financial services industry experience.
  • Strong credit skills and significant credit experience. In-depth knowledge of the Bank’s credit policies, practices and procedures (including loan documentation), as well as an awareness of business trends economic, technological, social, legal and political conditions and factors which could affect the viability of a credit.
