About the Content Writer

  • You will greatly influence the communication design of experiences that touch 23M+ users every day
  • You are an expert English-language writer and storyteller who can deliver human-friendly, readable and engaging content in the right format at the right time
  • You will understand our users and you are able to synthesize research outcomes into viable content and communication experiences. You are a champion when it comes to communicating complex information clearly, simply and free from jargon.
  • You can take complex financial topics and turn them into easy to understand content frameworks
  • You are obsessed with proper grammar and spelling.
  • You will create, edit and maintain high-quality, user-facing written communications including interface copy, error messaging, user documentation, help guides, educational materials and more.
  • You are comfortable and confident in your ability to maintain consistent language and voice across all types of experiences. You will facilitate use of simplified English where appropriate and manage translation requirements and language QA when required
  • You will help manage the production and publication of internal and external release notes and developer and API documentation when needed.
  • You are a digital native who understands how design and content come together; you know that a story that will be told across multiple experiences and may come in many different forms including text, imagery, and video.
  • You have a deep interest in content strategy and theory and are willing to contribute to the Digital Banking Unit’s content framework
  • You are open, persuasive, engaging and love to have a good laugh – you also know when it’s important to get serious and be a champion for the end user


Expected Skills & Competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, information development, or technical communication
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design, Journalism, or Technical Communication
  • A demonstrable portfolio of work (professional and personal) which showcases the digital applications you’ve worked on and includes examples of your story-telling skills
  • A positive and resilient personality. You must be able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
  • Comfortable working in a self-guided manner
  • Comfortable working within tight timeframes and with working creatively within specific constraints
  • A demonstrable history of applying design thinking tenants and user centered design principles to challenges at work or in everyday life
  • Ability to work within content guidelines with a desire to push existing standards to the next level
  • A fast learner who has an appetite to understand what’s behind both simple and complex financial solutions
  • A love of the art of writing and a willingness to continuously seek improvement of the craft


Bonus Skills and Interests

  • First-hand experience developing in CSS, HTML and/or JavaScript
  • Ability to build and execute design research methodologies or user testing protocols in a rapid development environment
  • Demonstrated interest in tangential fields like typography, design research, big data, fine art, music, journalism, etc.
  • A background in Fintech or other financial related products
