Who We Are?

In Operations, we provide the mission-critical support for all of our business-units, customers, and various banking operations in Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia (you know… everywhere). Do you like NASA (you do now)? Well we’re mission-control in Houston essentially, except we’re not located in Houston, this program takes place in Toronto, Mississauga, North York and visits Latin America.

We are a crucial part of the business and we are experts in all things ops including global operations, smart automation, governance, structural cost transformation, retail service centre, business service centre, corporate services, fraud management, collections, customer contact centres, strategic services – Houston we do not have a problem (too much? Ok we’ll dial it back).

Think of us as one of the few places to get front-office, mid-office, and back-office exposure all in the same place – pretty cool!

 

Your Career as a Catalyst Program Associate:

Operations is big, and it’s important, and more than ever investors, analysts and leadership are focused on efficiency and productivity – if you follow the markets you’ll know exactly what we mean, just look up productivity ratio and operating leverage to see how important they are now for all major companies. You need more proof? It’s one of our 5 strategic priorities as an organization – ‘nuff said! We want to expose you to as much of operations as possible to develop you to be a future leader in our organization. This isn’t about “finding a job” – if you’re a candidate for this program you’re that top 5% and you have no problems “finding a job”; this is for people who are ambitious and who want to become leaders.
 

You join our Catalyst program as a full-time permanent employee, no contracts, and you are guaranteed a job when you graduate our program in 18-24 months – we wouldn’t invest all of this in the very best students if we didn’t want you becoming a leader in our business. During your time in the Catalyst Program, you will complete multiple rotations within different areas of operations. This is key to your development and aims to ensure you receive a breadth of experience in a short period of time, and that you can discover your passion and we can see where you’ll thrive! Sound intense? It is. You’ll hone your skills in financial literacy and while supporting operations, learning about different financial instruments and processes, as well as our products and client-offerings. You’ll strengthen your customer service skill set and expand your operational knowledge. You’ll gain a well-rounded view of the entire organization, while allowing you to gain practical experience working on high-impact projects within the group.
 

But wait there’s more! Call within the next five minutes and get… ok don’t call us, it’s not 1997. But perhaps the best part is that you will be part of a cohort of students joining as associates at the same time. A really big component of the program is the social and community aspect. You will learn together, come together for socials, L&D sessions, visit Latin America in groups, and have a program senior manager dedicated to you and your cohort and everyone’s success and development. Not to mention the opportunity to seek tuition reimbursement for upskilling, or learning technical skills, or even Spanish (for those Anglophones out there). Qualifications/ Requirements:

This program is for students who have just graduated in 2020 or who are about to by May 2021 and are looking to secure that job now so that they are ready to go once they graduate. The people who are well-suited for this role foresee problems before they arise, recognize efficiencies and love a challenge. They have a keen, critical eye and get things done. They manage internal and external relationships really well, and are driven by excellence. They challenge themselves and the team members around them to be better.

We believe in relationships so we want someone that loves people, is competitive and driven and who wants to win. And you need to be innovative. If you think this program is “just a job” you couldn’t be more wrong. This is for those that want to get somewhere and that does not come easy; it’s a lot of work. 

For students, we are more focused on who are you and what you will be, rather than the experience you’ve acquired to date. We do recognize that any experience helps to shape you, along with your contributions to extra-curriculars and volunteering. You will need a University Undergraduate Degree or Masters Degree by the time the program starts (May/June 2021).
