Purpose
The product onboarding team is one of the most critical teams within the bank and aligns with the bank’s strategic direction. The successful candidate joining this team will not only learn what it is like to be a Business System Analyst but also get to work directly with leaders from both the business and technology side! Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to experience what it is like to work within an Agile software engineering team. Finally, the successful candidate can expect to learn about financial services and regulations within the bank!
Contributes to the overall success of the Product Onboarding Engineering Team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the analysis, documentation, and validation of business requirements, ensuring all the decisions and requirements changes are properly captured.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams across the bank as well as external partners to deliver the end-to-end solution.
- Translate complex business needs into clear and concise functional and non-functional requirements and user stories.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Analyze and develop technical requirements based on solution documentation.
- Contribute to the design and optimization of onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support scrum master and project manager in planning, scoping, and impact analysis for initiatives.
- Create, refine, prioritize and maintain the product backlog and associated deliverables, release backlog with forecasted delivery timelines.
- Perform gap analysis, root cause assessments, and release readiness reviews for system enhancements or upgrades.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for product onboarding projects and operational improvements.
- Monitor post-implementation performance and incident resolution.
- Must be able to work within tight deadlines and schedules, which may result in extended working hours during peak time to meet project deliverables.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
- Experience and willingness to execute various test cycles.
- Ability to come to office 3 times a week.
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
- Experience working in Agile project methodology, SDLC, SAFe, release management.
- Having an Engineering or Computer Science degree and pride yourself on analysis, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong expertise in business process mapping, requirements gathering & documenting and system analysis.
- Core analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Able to simplify complex situations and navigate ambiguity.
- Experience with micro apps and microservices architecture.
- Understanding of DB, RESTful API, OpenAPI, Postman and OAuth2.0
- Demonstrated experience utilizing the Atlassian suite of tools, including JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders, translating complex information into clear insights.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the bank.
- Ability to quickly adapt and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to proactively identify project risks and contribute to overall project health and success.
- Proficiency in using Jira / Confluence/ MS Office.
- Experience in Banking/Financial industry is a nice-to-have.
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environments located in Scarborough and Downtown Toronto; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. No external travel required.
