Business Systems Analyst – Cloud Modernization (Mortgage Domain)

About the Role

We’re looking for a high-performing Business Systems Analyst to join our team on a transformative cloud modernization program. This is a rare opportunity to work on a mission-critical initiative that is reshaping how mortgage applications are processed, underwritten, and delivered across the bank.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team rewriting a legacy, business rule-heavy monolithic application into a cloud-first, event-driven, microapp architecture. If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy working with seasoned SMEs, and have a passion for modernizing financial services, this role is for you.

Shape

What will you do?

  • Lead requirements elicitation from diverse stakeholders including business SMEs, architects, and developers.

  • Translate complex business rules and legacy processes into clear, actionable user stories and backlog items.

  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions to drive alignment and clarity across business and technology teams.

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring traceability, prioritization, and readiness for development.

  • Bridge the gap between business and technology, ensuring shared understanding of functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Support delivery teams by clarifying requirements, resolving blockers, and ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Champion modern tools and practices such as JIRA, Miro, journey mapping, and user story mapping.

  • Contribute to solutioning sessions with architecture and engineering teams to inform estimates and design decisions.

  • Document and maintain domain knowledge, including workflows, decision logic, and integration points.

Shape

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in large-scale, complex environments.

  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise programs from inception to completion.

  • Strong understanding of mortgage products and lifecycle, including underwriting and regulatory considerations.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills and abiliy to navigate ambiguity and build consensus.

  • Experience working in Agile environments, with deep knowledge of backlog grooming, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.

  • Proficiency in modern requirement management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Miro, etc.).

  • Ability to distill complex discussions into structured documentation and actionable requirements.

  • Comfortable working across legacy systems and modern cloud architectures.

  • A curious, proactive mindset, someone who asks the right questions and seeks continuous improvement.

Shape

Nice to Have

  • Experience in financial services, especially in real estate lending or mortgages.

  • Exposure to API and microservices design and integration.

  • Background in engineering or computer science is a plus.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).

Shape

 What's in it for you?

  • We have an inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages creativity and curiosity and celebrates success

  • We provide you with the tools and technology needed to create meaningful customer experiences

  • You'll get to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders, who have hailed from top technology companies around the world

  • We hire you for your talent — not just a job — so you can grow with us. We’ll equip you for success not only in your role, but also in your career as a whole

  • Dress codes don't apply here: being comfortable does

  • Access to thousands of online and in-person courses so you can hone your current skills, or learn new ones

  • A competitive rewards package that includes a base salary, a performance bonus, company matching programs on pension and profit sharing, paid vacation, personal & sick days, medical, vision, and dental and much more
