Purpose
We are building the next generation of real-time, programmable payment rails and are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our Digital Assets team. The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements, regulatory expectations, and system functionality are accurately translated into high-quality, production-ready technology solutions. This person will be inserted into a high performing team and must bring strong self-organization, stakeholder management and willingness to dive into learning new things.
What You’ll Do:
- Technical Discovery – Lead the elicitation of requirements for high-complexity projects. Create high detail technical artifacts, including system sequence diagrams, process maps and API specifications
- Data Integration - Document and analyze data flow between legacy core banking technology and new technology stacks.
- Control Function Navigation – Partner with control functions to ensure the technical solutions meet regulatory and internal controls
- Strategic Decision Support – Identify critical technical and business decision points and present data driven trade off analysis to leadership
- Validation – Define technical user acceptance testing criteria and perform hands on validation using tools like Postman to ensure code aligns with documented business logic.
- Implementation – Support release readiness activities, change management, training, post implementation support
- Production Support - Partner with technology teams to identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and support remediation activities.
- Delivery Support – Participate and lead sprint ceremonies including key ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement
What You'll Bring:
Mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a technology analyst type role within financial services.
- Strong understanding of:
- Real time payments, cross border settlement, prevalent payment rail transaction lifecycles
- Core banking systems and downstream integrations
- Data flows, reconciliations, and operational controls
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including technology, risk, compliance, and operations.
- Ability to work within ambiguous requirements and self-organize to solve problems
- Experience operating within structured SDLC and change management frameworks in regulated environments.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills that will be leveraged to build story maps and align stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting emerging technology, transformation, or innovation initiatives.
- Exposure to digital assets, blockchain technologies, and tokenized payment concepts.
- Experience supporting initiatives subject to enhanced governance or regulatory oversight.
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environments located in Scarborough and Downtown Toronto; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. No external travel required.
