Purpose
The Senior Manager of Business Cycle Management – Mexico is responsible for supporting the execution of the business planning and performance management cycle for Corporate Banking, Investment Bankign and Capital Markets within Global Banking & Markets (GBM). This role ensures operational alignment, timely delivery of planning inputs, and performance insights for the Mexican market. It works closely with the regional Director of Business Cycle Management and local business leaders to drive data-informed decisions, monitor key financial metrics, and support capital allocation and revenue share frameworks.
What You’ll Do:
- Business Planning & Forecasting
- Support the development of annual and multi-year business plans for Mexico, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities.
- Coordinate local inputs and assumptions, ensuring consistency and accuracy in financial forecasts.
- Contribute to capital allocation analysis and scenario modeling at the country level.
- Provide strategic support to the Director of Business Cycle Management in financial planning and performance discussions with IB Finance Mexico. This role serves as a key integrator across planning cycles, forecasts, and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between corporate financial objectives, business models, and long-term strategic priorities.
- Business Rhythm & Governance
- Manage the local calendar of business reviews, planning checkpoints, and performance updates.
- Ensure adherence to governance standards and reporting timelines defined at the regional level.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain dashboards and KPIs to track business performance in Mexico.
- Monitor and report on RWA and ROWA metrics, providing insights to support local and regional decision-making.
- Identify performance gaps and escalate risks or opportunities proactively.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as liaison between Finance, Business Units, and regional teams to ensure alignment of plans and initiatives.
- Facilitate resolution of local cross-functional issues impacting the business cycle.
- Strategic Support & Communication
- Prepare briefing materials and performance summaries for local and regional leadership.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights and clear narratives for stakeholders.
- Process Improvement & Enablement
- Identify opportunities to improve local planning and reporting processes.
- Leverage digital tools and analytics to enhance efficiency and data quality.
- Change Management & Collaboration
- Support change initiatives related to business cycle transformation in Mexico.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing shifting priorities and deadlines with agility.
- Solid understanding of the Bank’s business lines and corporate functions, particularly within the Investment Banking and Corporate Banking context.
- Strong customer orientation, with a track record of supporting internal clients and contributing to service excellence in financial services.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels, including with senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive working relationships across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a regional matrix structure, coordinating with head office and local teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and propose actionable recommendations.
- Solid financial and accounting knowledge, including corporate finance, planning, and performance management. Experience working with capital allocation models, revenue share frameworks, and RWA/ROWA metrics.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably in business planning, performance management, or financial analysis roles.
- Experience working with support and control functions, and familiarity with head-office governance processes. Spanish proficiency is a must.
