A Programmer Analyst (Java Developerr) supporting Collateral Management & Funding Technology (CMFT) team Works closely with customers, Business Analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.

 

  • Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for coding, testing, implementing, and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code
  • Provides front-line application support and coordination when application problems occur.
  • Participates in the evaluation of production logs and System Service Requests of high complexity and identifies actions to be taken to accomplish successful resolution to problem logs and deployment of new enhancements to the field.
  • Assists in Integrated System Test (IST) by supporting the test plan, test case validation and execution.
  • Provides production support
  • Liaisons with external vendors, product users, operations staff, technical support groups and other development teams in all phases of development project activities and production support activities.

 

 

 

Key accountabilities

 

  • Experience with Oracle & Sybase database and Unix/Linux platforms
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience with OOP Programming, Java, Enterprise Edition Java - J2EE
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular, Vue, HTML, CSS and Streaming architecture, DevOps as an asset 
  • Proficient with Unix Tools, shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.), SQL queries, PL/SQL, and SQL Loader - or equivalent
  • Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools a very strong asset
  • Experience with a version control system such as Bitbucket, Jenkins
  • Strong technical, analytical, time management, training, and presentations skills
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize responsibilities and tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse team 
  • Must have excellent communication skills - both verbal and written

 

 

Education

  • Computer Degree or equivalent
  • Must have 2 to 3 years of technical hands-on working experience with Java Enterprise Edition
