OVERVIEW

 

The Global Wholesale, Wealth, and Risk Technology - Derivatives team is responsible for servicing Global Capital Markets worldwide and delivering system solutions for the derivatives trading desk.  The role involves a mix of analysis and programming (largely scripting languages) to support data access and transformation from one of a number of integration technologies.  Scripting would involve a mix of data transformation languages (e.g. Python, server side JavaScript).

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who will work closely with project teams, during the software development life cycle, to ensure business and technical requirements have been fulfilled; contribute recommendations and assessments to ongoing project reviews.

 

  • Plan & develop Test Strategies and execute testing of medium to large agile labs.
  • Transfer application and process expertise to other analysts; provide hands on training on systems, hardware, environment, product, standards, and methodology to test team members; coach, motivate and provide feedback on department and project objectives, conflict resolution, and team building.
  • Maintain a thorough and current understanding of a broad range of assigned banking applications, UAT code configuration, system integration, environment resources and code delivery process; provide technical advice to development teams and external suppliers on integration of specific applications within the UAT environment
  • Forecast workday estimates based upon project documentation; monitor resource demands and escalate resource shortfalls or conflicts as required
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance personal breadth and depth of expertise and proactively apply knowledge on the job; identify and recommend enhancements or modifications to UAT processes in an effort to continually improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness

 

ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE ROLE?

You Have;

 

  • Hands on  programming skills (Java, Python, server side JavaScript
  • Strong database integration and transformation skills, experience with SQL (Oracle, or Sybase, or SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (ElasticSearch, Cassandra or similar)
  • A very good knowledge of capital markets and financial instruments
  • Nice to have Good knowledge of SOA and messaging bus e.g. Solace or Kakfa
  • Nice to have Exposure to regulatory, reporting or financial risk based projects would be good.
  • Nice to have Exposure to market data particularly with respect to derivatives (curves, surfaces etc).
  • nice to have Knowledge of Python
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Testing experience within the financial industry an asset
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or Equivalent Education / Work experience
