The Busines Analyst will be:
- Business Analysts (BA) are the liaison between the business stakeholders, and the technology development teams, responsible for ensuring the business requirements are clearly documented and developed to meet the needs of the stakeholders.
- The BA will work within a project team ensuring all tasks assigned to them are completed thoroughly, accurately and within assigned time frames.
- Activities include; data analysis, impact analysis, process analysis, preparing detailed documentation of requirements for systems/process changes, and preparation of instructions for users.
- Work with and provides support to Senior Business Analysts and Development and other stakeholders and ensures system requirements are realized.
- Provides professional service to customers (both internal and external) consistent with Scotiabank's core values.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Work with the Senior Business Analysts/ Senior Manager to ensure the end to end process is fully analyzed and documented which include all delivery channels, affected processing units and technologies
- Work with the Senior Business Analysts/ Senior Manager to ensure that requirements are clearly, accurately and thoroughly documented and understood for both system changes and/or process changes.
- Review and provide feedback on functional and system design specifications.
- Provides support with testing requirements, implementation, and works through transitioning the change to a steady state maintenance function.
- Manage timely and accurate delivery of assigned tasks for assigned projects with a focus on business requirements, ensuring that the Senior Manager and/or Project Lead are kept informed of all unresolved issues.
Functional Competencies:
- Ability to gather, analyze and create project artifacts including business requirements, business rules, analysis documents and business flow charts/diagrams
- Strong verbal and business writing skills: with the ability to communicate effectively to different audiences: - e.g. developers; internal business clients, and external vendors.
- Understand the project lifecycle, its various methodologies and expected outputs.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent degree designation
- Good working knowledge of iFAST and MS Office
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
