Requisition ID: 254195
Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.
The Scotia Wealth Modernization Team is transforming the end‑to‑end wealth management experience across our Canadian Wealth businesses. We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst who has deep expertise in agile delivery, business process analysis, journey mapping, and requirements definition. This role is ideal for someone who excels at translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories, collaborates closely with engineering teams, and communicates with confidence across business and technology stakeholders.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Lead end‑to‑end business analysis activities for modernization initiatives, from problem framing through to solution validation
- Produce high‑quality artifacts such as business requirements, process maps, current/future state workflows, user‑journey maps, and acceptance criteria
- Facilitate conversations with business partners to understand needs, identify gaps, and recommend solutions aligned to business outcomes
- Write clear, concise, and testable user stories; support backlog grooming and story refinement sessions with engineering and QA teams
- Ensure business requirements are clearly understood and traceable through development and testing
- Act as a core contributor within the Agile team, participating in ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize work based on value, risk, and dependencies
- Support iterative delivery by continuously validating outcomes against user and business expectations
- Conduct detailed analysis of existing wealth management processes and customer journeys to identify modernization opportunities
- Define and document future‑state processes that drive efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance advisor and client experiences
- Partner with business and operations teams to ensure proposed changes are practical, clearly understood, and aligned to operational realities
- Communicate complex concepts in a clear, structured, and compelling manner tailored to diverse audiences — business executives, advisors, operations teams, and technical specialists
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and decision‑making conversations with confidence and clarity
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Identify regulatory, compliance, and audit considerations within requirements and ensure they are accounted for in solution design
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams as needed to validate impacts and ensure regulatory adherence
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 3+ years of business analysis experience, ideally within financial services or wealth management
- Proven expertise in Agile delivery and business analysis techniques — journey mapping, process mapping, story writing, backlog management, and acceptance‑criteria definition
- A strong understanding of the wealth management landscape, including regulatory and operational considerations (e.g., KYC, MFDA/IIROC/CIRO, suitability, product processing)
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams on story refinement and solution validation
- The ability to think strategically, ask the right questions, and drive clarity in ambiguous situations
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
- Experience with modernization or digital‑transformation initiatives
- Exposure to enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, PEGA, onboarding applications, or wealth account‑opening systems
- Certification in Agile, or related business analysis disciplines
