Purpose

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO), reporting to the SVP & COO of International Banking (IB), plays a critical role in governance excellence, driving performance, and ensuring risk transparency across IB’s investment portfolio. As part of the PMO unit, the team ensures alignment with enterprise standards, drives continuous improvement of governance tools and KPIs, and supports the execution of IB’s strategy across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Governance, the Manager will provide governance leadership and analytical expertise across a complex portfolio, ensuring compliance, transparency, and efficiency in execution. This role is essential to maintaining high standards in reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement while enabling strategic insights that support enterprise priorities.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

 Portfolio Governance & Oversight

  • Manage governance for a diverse international portfolio of 450+ projects across multiple jurisdictions of the international footprint, overseeing governance of the bank’s investment portfolio within complex ownership structures.
  • Partner with Project Managers to monitor health metrics, risks, dependencies, and adherence to the Enterprise Management Policy; recommend mitigation strategies for non-compliance.
  • Apply a risk-based framework to proactively identify at-risk initiatives and enable timely interventions that uphold governance standards and KPI performance.

 

Reporting & Analysis

  • Analyze and act on monthly and quarterly portfolio reports with executive relevance, introducing trend analysis to uncover systemic risks and drive enterprise-level improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of reporting capabilities by refining tools, processes, and KPI frameworks to ensure data integrity and enable strategic insights.
  • Monitor and report on financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

 

Tool Management & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and optimize the portfolio management tool (CA PPM), ensuring reliable functionality for project and portfolio reporting.
  • Champion data quality initiatives by implementing automated validation checks and collaborating with data owners to resolve inconsistencies.
  • Identify governance process gaps and implement enhancements that drive efficiency, transparency, and alignment with enterprise priorities.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement

  •  Coordinate monthly project reviews, agendas, and action tracking, while fostering a customer-focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank capabilities.
  • Lead governance training initiatives to strengthen portfolio management capabilities across IB teams.

 

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to operational, regulatory, and conduct risk guidelines, aligning day-to-day activities with the Bank’s risk culture and appetite.

 

 

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Candidate must have the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish as they will supporting teams in both languages
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or related field.
  • CA, CFA, CPA, MBA, or equivalent is an asset.
  • 5 years of relevant experience (project or portfolio management, preferably within financial services).
  • Experience with portfolio management tools (e.g., CA PPM, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Project, JIRA).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI skills.
  • Experience leading governance or portfolio reporting processes.
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal for interacting with stakeholders with varying cross cultural and language differences.
