The Role
The Associate Director, Onboarding Systems, is responsible for the technology product strategy, governance, and delivery of technology capabilities supporting Global Banking & Markets client onboarding processes, including KYC, AML, and Regulatory Onboarding requirements such as Dodd-Frank (CFTC, SBS), Canadian Derivatives, and EMIR and other OTC market regulations. The role leads onboarding platform modernization, regulatory change initiatives, and business transformation efforts to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen regulatory compliance, and improve the client onboarding experience while supporting client onboarding data governance.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Technology Strategy, Platform Ownership & Delivery
- Own the strategic direction, governance, and ongoing evolution of the Fenergo (FenX) platform and related onboarding tools and platforms supporting KYC, AML, and Regulatory Onboarding data and document capture processes
- Lead the intake, prioritization, delivery, and governance of BAU enhancements, regulatory changes, defect resolution, system upgrades, and production support activities to ensure platform stability and alignment with business needs
- Oversee business requirements, impact assessments, user acceptance testing (UAT), release management, and implementation activities to ensure changes are delivered effectively and with appropriate controls
- Drive platform modernization, automation, and strategic change initiatives to improve operational efficiency, data quality, client experience, and regulatory compliance
Data Governance & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee onboarding data quality, governance, remediation, and reporting initiatives to support regulatory obligations and business decision-making
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure onboarding processes and technology solutions align with evolving regulatory requirements
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build and manage relationships with business, technology, and external vendor partners to deliver scalable onboarding solutions and achieve strategic objectives
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on onboarding technology, client lifecycle management, and tech-enabled regulatory onboarding process design
People Leadership & Change Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Drive organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, training, and business readiness activities to support successful adoption of new capabilities
Risk & Control
- Ensure effective controls and compliance practices are embedded within onboarding technology processes and initiative delivery in accordance with Bank policies and regulatory expectations
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Experienced banking professional familiar with the GBM business model and associated risks, client data and product suite
- Must possess knowledge of the Corporate Banking and Capital Markets business and/or onboarding regulations.
- Must be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, technologically savvy and innovative; creative, a self-starter, results-oriented, detail oriented and organized.
- A recognized undergraduate degree is required, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or Business.
- At least 5 years of work experience in similar or related role at a global financial institution.
- Experience and familiarity with the agile methodology and the software development lifecycle, particularly in a business user context.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology-centered change initiatives highly valuable.
