Purpose:
Contributes to the overall success of the Regulatory and Business Initiatives Group globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of Global Banking and Markets business strategies and objectives and in compliance with all relevant regulations. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures
What you will do:
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Build understanding of Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture to make effective decisions.
- Lead end to end delivery planning of assigned project(s) like ideation / interpretation of business needs, business case approval, establish project governance, implementation plan and transition to BAU including budgeting & resourcing.
- Influence the decision-making process to ensure alignment to business priorities, strategic technology architecture and resource allocation for assigned project(s).
- Works independently and exercises judgement based on precedents, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
- Impacts program design, risk and delivery across business areas or subfunctions supported.
- Manage governance forums as required with primarily business stakeholders, technology partners and other support functions.
- Responsible for interactions with all key stakeholders from business, risk, operations & technology teams including stakeholders in different geographic locations.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Represents Scotiabank effectively when involved with external 3rd parties, either regulators, vendors or at industry meetings
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree level or above education, ideally in business, financial or technology
- Must have or working towards their PMP certification
- Must have experience in capital markets project management
- Experience of working within change management programs
- Experience of managing senior stakeholders / running meetings/ preparing presentations
- Ability to use Microsoft Office
- Management of all project finance
- Knowledge of Capital Markets
- Project Management experience with Technology and Strategic implementations
Working Conditions:
The Associate Director works in a professional office environment. The work load is demanding with a steady flow of legislative/regulatory initiatives and examination reports, both internal and external, which carry specific deadlines. Workload is subject to continual prioritization due to incoming requests from regulators and internal departments
