The liquidity stress testing team is responsible for developing and maintaining internal assumptions, methodologies and stress scenarios to ensure sufficient liquidity during periods of stress.
Reporting to the Director, Liquidity Stress Testing, the Associate Director will oversee and enhance the liquidity stress testing processes, playing an integral role in the bank’s liquidity management strategy. This includes developing insights and forming actionable liquidity strategy recommendations to effectively manage through stress events.
This role is focused on supporting a more strategic and agile approach to Group Treasury’s liquidity risk framework in ensuring the robustness of our liquidity strategies and the effectiveness of our risk management framework.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the enterprise Liquidity Stress Testing (LST) Program by developing internal stress scenarios and corresponding assumptions to:
- Assess liquidity needs
- Identify potential vulnerabilities
- Devise risk mitigation and liquidity optimization strategies
- Assist in aligning Treasury and Bank strategic objectives by reviewing and recommending changes to liquidity transfer pricing on balance sheet products
- Leverage quantitative data analytics and qualitative insights to develop thoughtful stress scenarios
- Collaborate with business partners to strengthen understanding of liquidity drivers and client behavior during stress events
- Utilize excellent communication skills to explain the relationship between balance sheet products and liquidity risk
- Add meaning to data by understand shifts in balance sheet positions and articulate appropriate levels and composition of liquidity supports to senior management for better decision-making and strategic resilience
- Remain up to date on emerging market risks and best practices to recalibrate stress test assumptions and scenarios
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting and analysis activities, supporting a culture of continuous improvement
- Develop timely and accurate reports and analysis, holding oneself accountable

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- 5+ years experience in Liquidity risk / management, Treasury and/or Capital Markets and Risk Management.
- Detail oriented, data focused and ability to distill information for senior leaders
- In depth experience with stress testing and modeling
- In depth experience with data driven decision making
- Experience with Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA and database models is considered an asset
- Solid working knowledge of stress testing requirements as per OSFI, CDIC guidelines
- Understanding of Market Risk, particularly off-balance sheet derivative products, is beneficial.
