Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank’s Supply Chain Finance (SCF) sales team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures

 

What You’ll Do

  • Support multiple Associate Directors (ADs) in ensuring that business goals are achieved by retaining and increasing the overall profitability of the portfolio while maintaining an acceptable level of risk
  • In conjunction with ADs, analyze new SCF opportunities, handle customer requests for amendments of existing credit facilities, complete risk assessments, prepare credit presentations and recommendations
  • Lead end-to-end onboarding of new clients and programs by coordinating with internal partners (Execution, Operations, GTB Onboarding and KYC teams)
  • Prepare and write new credit presentations and annual reviews for obligors covered by SCF, including permanent monitoring of financial performance
  • Review credit/legal documentation in conjunction with senior team members, culminating in the closing of SCF transactions
  • Support in the development of client presentations and proposals
  • Influence a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in business decisions
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles
  • Ensure the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment


What You’ll Bring 

  • University degree; MBA is preferred
  • 3 years of related banking or business experience
  • Experience on Credit and credit presentation
  • Skills in risk assessment, financial analytical and structuring deals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Legal document negotiation experience is preferred


Work Arrangement: 

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours may be required from time-to-time.
