Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for providing reasonable assurance that quality standards are met across GBM, performing ad-hoc and regular Quality Assurance testing to assess the adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of the AML Policies and Procedures, and that anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing and sanctions (collectively “AML”) controls are being appropriately executed in GBM jurisdictions.

 

Accountabilities

 

Risk Management and QA Framework Evolvement

  • Perform qualitative and risk-based Quality Assurance by testing and evaluating key control points of a sample selection, and develop testing results in accordance with GBM AML QA Procedures. The reviews will require good knowledge of AML Policies and Procedures
  • Perform analysis to identify and address patterns, themes, or trends that indicate potential weaknesses or gaps in the execution of GBM-wide AML and sanctions controls and processes
  • Produce AML/ATF and Sanctions 1st LOD metrics and key risk and performance indicators
  • Develop periodical AML QA reporting of systemic issues and progress against remediation objectives to Senior Management and other key stakeholders
  • Support continuous development of AML QA framework, including reporting to ensure timely delivery of AML QA reporting to Senior Management and 2nd Line Management
  • Support in the development of training, where appropriate, based on AML QA results and progress of corrective actions
  • Perform process mapping and support in delivering future AML QA program phases due to changes in the regulatory landscape, system/process enhancements or updates

 

Relationship Management

 

  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with GBM Execution Teams and 2nd Line of Defence (i.e. AML Officer, GS, Enterprise-Testing Unit and GAMLU)
  • Interact with procedure owner(s) and provide advice, based on the outcome of QA reviews as well as on regulatory changes that may impact GBM processes. Good knowledge of AML processes is required for this

 

Education / Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or equivalent work experience is required
  • Experience and knowledge in AML areas such as EDDU, FIU, Onboarding, AML Control Areas (internal controls, trade operations) is required
  • Spanish is preferred
  • Prior experience in examinations/auditing roles, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering and an understanding of testing methodology and risk and controls analysis will be considered a critical asset
  • CAMS Certification will be considered a critical asset
  • Experience in Project Management will be considered a critical asset
  • In addition, the following are to be considered base line skills:
    • An understanding of compliance best practices
    • Familiarity with the key products offered in GBM and related AML/ATF and sanctions functions
    • Strong analytical, investigative, reporting, and planning skills
    • Outstanding written and spoken communication abilities
    • Excellent teamwork, and interpersonal skills
    • Highly organized and capable of dealing with complex projects
    • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
