The Role
The Assistant Manager contributes to the success of the GWO Confirmations – OTC Confirmations team by overseeing the timely and accurate confirmation of OTC derivative trades. The role supports day-to-day operations, controls, and process improvements while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Oversee and support the end-to-end confirmation process for OTC derivative trades across multiple asset classes.
- Monitor unmatched or unconfirmed trades, ensuring timely investigation, escalation, and resolution of discrepancies with internal stakeholders and counterparties.
- Review and analyze trade confirmation workflows to identify root causes of breaks and implement corrective actions.
- Perform and oversee daily control checks, reconciliations, and exception management to ensure accuracy and completeness of confirmations.
- Utilize confirmation platforms and internal systems (e.g., DTCC, MarkitWire, Xceptor, or equivalent) to validate and process trade data.
- Support implementation of process improvements, system enhancements, and operational initiatives impacting the confirmations function.
- Monitor adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures, and escalate issues or control gaps as required.
- Ensure all activities align with regulatory, compliance, and operational risk frameworks.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- In-depth knowledge of OTC derivatives products (e.g., FX, rates, credit, equities, commodities) and trade lifecycle processes, particularly confirmations.
- Hands-on experience with OTC trade confirmations, including managing unmatched trades, break investigation, and resolution.
- Strong understanding of confirmation platforms and industry utilities such as DTCC, MarkitWire, Xceptor, or similar systems.
- Knowledge of capital markets operations, including front-to-back trade flows and post-trade processing.
- Experience with reconciliations, exception management, and operational control frameworks within a confirmations environment.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting trade processing (e.g., operational risk, AML/ATF considerations).
- Experience supporting process improvements, control enhancements, or system-related initiatives within an operations environment.
