The Role
The Assistant Manager, Middle Office plays a key role in supporting daily operations across CLO and Credit TRS portfolios. This position is responsible for trade lifecycle management, portfolio administration, and client service activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong risk and control execution.
The role operates in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and requires independent ownership of tasks, along with collaboration across Front Office and internal stakeholders. You will also support the Manager with day-to-day operations, process improvements, and projects, and may provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Independently manage and oversee assigned CLO and Credit TRS portfolios, ensuring timely execution of activities within tight deadlines
- Perform end-to-end trade lifecycle management, including trade control and client service support across CLO and TRS products
- Maintain CLO deals, including daily borrowings, prepayments, accruals, and quarterly settlements
- Track and maintain compliance and financial reporting requirements in line with credit agreements
- Partner closely with Front Office and Corporate Lending Services teams to resolve issues and support business needs
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and drive efficiencies across the Middle Office
- Support process improvement initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and implementation
- Resolve complex operational issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks (including operational risk, AML/ATF, and conduct risk)
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Prior experience in capital markets, banking operations, structured credit, or a related field
- Strong understanding of middle office operations and trade lifecycle processes
- Experience with derivative products (ideally TRS/IRS) and/or lending/loan products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exposure to process improvement or business analysis
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Front Office partners and cross-functional teams
- Technical proficiency in tools such as Excel, Access, SQL, or VBA is an asset
