Purpose of Job

Contributes to the overall success of the Business Human Resources project activities ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Responsible for partnering across all components of HR to provide support to HR Business Partners and HR Business Advisors in delivery and implementation activities. This role coordinates large or complex requests from HR Business Partners or Advisors and ensures that requests are received by the appropriate group and are completed on time. This role may also work closely with the project teams to provide support on project implementation. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Supports HR Business Partners and HR Business Advisors with day to day projects and initiatives.  Acts as a point of contact and escalation for HR Services requests from HR Business Partners and HR Business Advisors (e.g. coordinating mass report generation to help inform a HRBP in decision making).
  • Partners with Project Managers, Communications, Reporting, and/or other teams to ensure the timely completion of project activities and other requests.  Supports Business HR to identify resources and capabilities within Communities of Expertise (CoEs) and HR Services.
  • Conducts research, analytics, and synthesis of reports and information.  Manages overflows and volume of Business HR requests.  Provide other support as required.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations within his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Primary Manager: Senior Manager, BHR Projects

  • Supports different HR Business Partners and HR Business Advisors, some with employees located internationally.
  • Population may include multi-lingual employees in diverse, specialized role
  • Operates independently day-to-day with direction/coaching from Senior Manager, BHR Projects
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or Business
  • CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation, or in progress is an asset
  • Project Management Certification in progress is considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrated expertise in interacting with all levels of management
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills to develop and maintain effective partnering relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate effective time management and priority setting skills
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, flexibility, resourcefulness and problem solving capabilities
  • Solid knowledge of computer systems (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, BITs)

 

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
  • Stress may be experienced due to conflicting/changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Position requires multitasking across job responsibilities, project deliverables and ongoing just-in-time needs of the Stakeholders. 
  • Limited travel domestically.
