The Assistant Manager, The Scotiabank Women Initiative, contributes to the overall success of the Scotiabank Women Initiative (SWI) in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. In this role, you will ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manage program budget maintenance and monitoring including reconciliation, invoices, monthly and annual accruals, forecasting and reporting
  • Be responsible for SWI program data, including maintaining, monitoring and analyzing trends in program execution, client lists, participant engagement and industry best practices to identify improvement/enhancement opportunities; prepares insights and dashboards for executive leadership and key partners
  • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of communications and platforms to drive program engagement and success
  • Support the development and delivery of content for Program Champions and sales teams
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of program initiatives (e.g. learning materials, training sessions, delivery strategies) by collecting data to examine program performance metrics for continuous improvement
  • Support the Senior Manager, The Scotiabank Women Initiative and the broader SWI team on training initiatives, projects and events
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Champion a high performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Post-Secondary education ideally in Business or a related field
  • Multiple years of experience working in an analyst, communications, or event planning role within the financial services industry is strongly preferred
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PP, Excel, SharePoint); ability to use Pivot tables and filters to create charts and graphs
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and manipulate data to produce reporting information for Executive level presentation (Executive Dashboard)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience managing expenses and financial budgets – i.e., tracking actual against budgeted
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
  • Strong problem solving and curiosity skills, excellent customer service and inter-personal skills and ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines, in a fast-paced, team-based environment; ability to multi-task is required
  • A high standard of customer service and ability to meet tight deadlines
