Assistant Manager, Sales and Product Support, Scotia Leasing, Canadian Business Banking

 

Purpose:

 

The Assistant Manager, Sales and Product Support plays a critical supporting role in the operational success of Scotia Leasing. This position bridges portfolio management and documentation functions, ensuring seamless transaction execution, compliance, and client satisfaction and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage leasing transactions and maintain portfolio integrity.

 

Contributes to the overall success of the Scotia Leasing Department/ Canadian Business Banking in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities:

 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

•    Develops a strong understanding of the Scotia Leasing product offerings, deal structure and adheres to Scotia Leasing/Scotiabank policy and procedures.

•    Gathers all the pertinent transaction information by effectively communicating with key stakeholders (Scotia Leasing Senior Relationship Managers, Commercial Bankers, Global Risk Management, BSC etc.).

•    Responsible for documenting and funding all deals in an assigned region.

•    Facilitates end-to-end transaction flow by working closely with the partners in Sales, Operations and Accounting while maintaining the established Service Level Agreements.

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

•    Interpret customer queries, re-structure transactions, and prepare necessary documentation for all Leasing products.

•    Follow procedures for preparing various documents, monitor delinquent accounts, and process mid-term adjustments.

•    Issue payout calculations, provide balance inquiries, and handle all leasing portfolio inquiries (phone or email).

•    Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information:


•    Post secondary education – University Degree /College Diploma
•    Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in Leasing, Equipment Financing or Fulfillment
•    Understanding of Global Risk Management Credit and Commercial Credit Structures 
•    Knowledge of commercial leasing and equipment financing products
•    Familiar with Business Service Centre Fulfillment Functions

Working Conditions:


•    Work in a standard office-based environment; this position is located in Toronto and is a Hybrid role which is subject to change based on the needs of the business. Non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
