The Role
Contributes to the overall success of Income Processing within Global Wholesale Operations by providing functional leadership, operational oversight and subject-matter expertise across income-processing activities. Coordinates the accurate and timely processing of coupon, interest, maturity and related income events; leads the resolution of complex or high-risk exceptions; strengthens controls; and drives continuous improvement in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures, and the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Ensure the accurate collection, management and timely processing of all Coupon, Interest and Maturity payments and pivots by reviewing online reports/files and processing payments received from depositories and issuers.
- Dynamic individual, that is capable of learning quickly and is a change agent.
- Provide ongoing assistance to the department manager by updating and cleaning the control accounts daily, training and cross training other team members as required, and providing support with other functions as required. Completion of sundry and other ad-hoc duties as assigned among the team.
- Running projection reports, balancing and querying large data sets;
- Data reconciliation and financial reporting;
- Centre of excellence for product and depository knowledge within Asset Servicing.
- Completes sundry and other ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Support other departments/branches by responding to enquiries globally and providing customer service in accordance with GWO’s policies and procedures.
- Providing support with each other’s functions as required with volumes and projects.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
- Coordinates the resolution of complex enquiries and payment discrepancies, balancing client outcomes, market practices, operational controls and financial risk.
- Leads process-improvement and automation opportunities that enhance accuracy, timeliness, scalability, control effectiveness and the client experience.
Dimensions:
- Strong data management and visualization abilities to work through large sets of data with attention for detail;
- Daily interactions with internal partners – GWO Operations, Finance and Wealth.
- Independent oversight and coordination of high-value, time-sensitive income distributions across global markets.
- Accountability for complex exception resolution, escalation, control effectiveness, stakeholder communication and operational improvement.
- Effective prioritization and sound judgement are required in an environment of fluctuating volumes, competing deadlines and non-standard hours.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 5 or more years of relevant financial-services, capital-markets, custody or asset-servicing experience, including strong experience in income processing or a comparable operations function.
- Experience coordinating complex work, leading issue resolution, supporting controls and influencing outcomes across teams without formal authority.
- Strong analytical and data-management capability, with advanced Excel skills; VBA, SQL, Python, data-visualization or automation experience is preferred.
- Broadridge or comparable securities-processing platform experience is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues, risks and recommendations to operational and management audiences.
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
