Job Purpose

  • Provide accurate and timely support  to the Global Equity (GE)  trading desk, from an exception management perspective, beginning at the point of trade execution, up until trade settlement.
  • Provide an excellent customer experience for all GE clients by offering  efficient, helpful and timely service
  • Ensure that a robust process of Trade Capture and Control is fully instituted at all times.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Involvement in the prompt and and efficient management of exceptions/ outages produced in GE daily trading activity with CDN exchanges and with US brokers
  • Timely and accurately allocating of all GE client trades daily, in order to be in compliance with NI 24-101 regulatory requirement
  • Timely and efficient resolution of all money and position outages in trader average accounts.
  • Learn, understand and be mindful of the nuances in working with various legal entities (Singapore, NY, London) and various desks within GE (ETFs, Latam, Electronic Execution Services, Portfolio Trading)
  • Assist Product Control and traders resolve any outages/exceptions between Fidessa (OMS) and Broadridge
  • Liaise with Trade Floor Supervision (TFS) and trading desk to ensure all hold and error account  position and money outages are accounted for.
  • Facilitate the timely settlement of GE client trades by liasing with clients, their custodians, the trading desk and Settlements & Clearing dept.
  • Actively work with those same contacts to settle any failed trades as soon as possible.
  • Assist clients, traders and sales staff in resolving any issues / queries in the post trade execution space.
  • Take part in the allocating and settling of any Bought Deal or New Issue offerings that the GE desk participates in
  • Work with our colleagues in Product Control, Settlements and Clearing, Corporate Actions, Finance, TFS & Technology to offer solutions to the GE trade desk on any new business initiatives or requirements
  • Provide support to the Commission Sharing/Soft $ program offered to certain GE clients.

 

Functional Competencies

  • Thorough understanding of Back Office departments like Settlements & Clearing, Corporate Actions, Product Control and their associated processes and procedures
  • Thorough working knowledge of systems which include SS&CNet, CTM, Fidessa CTP, Fidessa CTAC, Alert, Bloomberg and Broadridge
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in determination and escalation of issues involving material risk
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, stressful environment and remain focused
  • Ability to multitask while providing excellent problem resolution
  • Ability to quickly and affectively respond to inquiries with confidence
  • Advanced capability with Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel is an asset
  • Excellent verbal/ written communication, and time management skills with strong attention  to detail
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course and CPH is an asset
