Role
The Application Support Specialist is a key player within the corporate and commercial banking credit risk technology, supporting strategic enhancements to the business banking credit risk platform. The internal and external demand for accurate, consistent and on-demand information from GRM continues grow, you will be part of a team of analysts providing technical support to clients across all GRM departments. Responsibilities include managing escalations, and ensuring service standards, and deliver enhancements and new functions within time and budget.
What will we expect from you?
- Leads Champion a customer-focused culture by fostering strong relationships with business users and stakeholders
- Provide timely and accurate technical support to GRM clients.
- Manage and resolve client escalations, ensuring adherence to service standards and maintaining client confidence.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to optimize call handling, fulfillment, and overall service delivery.
- Participate in the systems implementation process by assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and assisting in the provision of user documentation, user training, and post-implementation support.
- Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to effectively assist in the provision of business solutions and services to the end user business lines
- Collaborate with internal teams on projects and contribute to quality management initiatives.
- Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
What You Will Bring to Succeed
- Support Encore which is bank’s no retail credit risk data platform and reporting users.
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience within a development team.
- Experience managing client relationships in a financial services or banking environment.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team culture.
- Knowledge of using SQL on databases such as Oracle, MSSQL etc. is an asset.
- Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs and Splunk/Dynatrace
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools is an asset.
- Strategic thinking, detail oriented, highly organized
- Previous experience in Commerce/Corporate/Investment banking system is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and with clients.
- Comfortable work in data-rich environment.
- Strong understanding of technical design, systems infrastructure, and IT&S analysis/process requirements
