Contributes to the overall success of the Cloud Security Engineering team with a global focus on code control, and pipeline security, supporting the achievement of the Bank’s information security objectives of integrity, confidentiality/privacy, availability, and continuity.   

The incumbent is responsible for supporting and upholding the Bank’s application change control standards. 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

• Working from requirements, collaborate with Application Security Stakeholders, assist in design, development, and implementing solutions supporting application security at the bank. 
• Collaborate in a team environment spanning multiple geographies to implement and support project tasks.  
• Define best practices, author detailed design and implementation documentation to support Day 2 operations team, end users, and define best practices in using products implemented by the project team. 
• Develop and support tools and integrations that connect new products into existing technology stacks and processes. 
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• At least three years of experience in deploying and managing security or enterprise solutions in a large-scale environment 
• Strong knowledge of application security concepts, best practices, and tools. 
• Capable of producing and refining solution architecture documentation that accurately reflects the implemented solution. 
• Proficient in system administration,  scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, and automation tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins 
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Experience in working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their security features and services 
• Certifications in security, such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP, are a plus 
• Excellent organization, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills 
• Fluent in English, Spanish an asset
